The Road to Riva
Today, Alan Lockley and I set out on the out-bound leg of our expedition to the 42nd Capillary Chromatography Symposium in Riva del Garda. Dan Carrier and I will be making the return journey the following weekend.
Three days, six countries and 2,000 miles in a 53-year old, open-top car with no power assistance and no creature comforts!
Why?
Because it’s an adventure, and also to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
If you want to track our progress (or lack of it):
- We will be posting live on Twitter: @anatune
- There may be the odd photo (in both senses of the word) on Instagram: anatuneltd
- And if time permits, a blog post or two
When preparing for a trip like this, the first thing to pack is your sense of humour. We aim to have a good time, come what may!

Our sincere thanks go to the many sponsors, who have already made generous contributions. Why don’t you do the same?
Analytical Chemistry is leading the fight against Parkinson’s disease. Here is a chance for you to be a part of it; any contribution, however small, makes you part of our team.
You can do this now using a debit or credit card via our JustGiving Page.
Thank you.
