Project Update

A few months ago I issued an invitation for, anyone with an interest, to be involved in a new project to automate the analysis of formaldehyde (and other carbonyl compounds) in air.

We are developing the hardware needed to enable samples collected on DNPH tubes to be processed automaticly and analysed by HPLC.

I was nicely suprised by the response and we now have a number of additional people involved in the exercise. The end product will be better as a result of their input and we may well be able to help them in return.

The project is proceeding well and we now have the full system undergoing testing in our Cambridge laboratory. Dan Carrier and I will post a video shortly for you to get a better idea of what we are doing.

Continuous On-Line Monitoring of Formaldehyde in Air

Now to the point of this post:

We have the opportunity to do further work with Professor Alistair Lewis of the University of York on instrumentation to permit continuous, on-line sampling of carbonyl compounds in air.

Do you know anyone else who may have a requirement for this?

If so, I would love to make contact with them get their views on the subject (in confidence if necessary).

As with the current project, if we decide to proceed with the development of a commercial product, they would have the oportunity to be involved at the beginning and influence the end product.
