Demonstrating Laboratory Automation at the Syngenta Automation Day – Event Review
On 12th May 2022, Anatune attended the Syngenta Automation Day at their Jealott’s Hill International Research Centre in Berkshire, UK
Having kindly been invited to attend by Syngenta, the Automation day was a fantastic event and we were very excited to join 11 other robotics manufacturers with a whole hots of automation expertise, from simple plate movers to fully customised robotic arms. The event was attended by a large number of scientists, managers and directors from Syngenta and other invited guests, including Imperial College, and over an extremely well-catered lunch we were able to discuss all-things related to laboratory automation solutions.
Following this, the Anatune team consisting of Account Manager Team Leader, Sean O’Connor, and Principal Scientist, camilla Liscio, demonstrated how the GERSTEL MPS Autosampler can automate sample preparation to optimise laboratory workflows.

With just a small selection of the wide range of available modules, our fully operational system received quite a bit of attention which was fantastic. The amount of people who said ‘seriously there’s a centrifuge in there?!’ and then stood in wonder as it worked was worth bring the MPS alone!!
It was also great to see that Camilla’s presentation was very well attended; with standing room only and many people asking for a copy at the end. Many thanks, Camilla!!
This event also gave us an opportunity to discuss automation with larger-scale and custom robotics experts. This enabled us to identify flesh/plant grinding as the popular gap in the automation portfolio for all. Keep an eye out for industry developments on this topic.
