Automation of Forensic Toxicology Sample Preparation and Analysis
Anatune and GERSTEL are very pleased to attend and present at the joint London Toxicology Group (LTG)/United Kingdom and Ireland Association of Forensic Toxicologists (UKIAFT) meeting on Friday 9th March 2018. The event will take place at the UK Chamber of Shipping, 30 Park Street, London, SE1 9EQ.
Automated sample preparation and analysis can be used to reduce case sample turnaround times for busy forensic service toxicology labs with high sample throughput procedures, whilst consistently producing high quality lab data when evidence and truth really matter.
The beauty of the GERSTEL automated sample preparation systems is their design flexibility which allows coverage of a range of sample preparation methods to suit particular lab requirements and the ability to carry out quick method development and validation for new drug and metabolite methods.
Oliver Lerch, a GERSTEL colleague, will be presenting on ‘Automation of Forensic Toxicology Sample Preparation and Analysis Workflows’. His talk will focus on automated on-line solutions for serum and urine analysis for drugs of abuse. Oliver has substantial experience in toxicology method automation, publishing in several peer reviewed journals such as Analytical Bioanalytical Chemistry and the Journal of Analytical Toxicology.
Anatune’s Lab Manager, Dan Carrier, will also be attending the meeting and will be more than happy to discuss the automated opioids in blood work we have done in collaboration with Forensic Medicine and Science at the University of Glasgow, along with more information on the techniques mentioned in Oliver’s talk such as liquid handling capability and sample clean-up using the GERSTEL robot.
The conference agenda is looking to be very exciting. We look forward to seeing you there – please do drop by our stand and have a chat with one of us!
