We can now confirm that the Guest Speaker for the 2-day Aroma Workshop is Neil Owen, IFRA-AWG Chairman.

Neil has kindly agreed to present the opening talk at our Aroma Workshop on the 6th-7th March 2018. Neil has many years’ experience within the fragrance world and has been a keen member along with Givaudan of IFRA for many years.  Neil is currently the chair of the IFRA Analytical Working Group (AWG), who advises and supports the wider membership of IFRA on analytical methods with the aim of establishing robust methods available to all.

Neil has worked for Givaudan and, before that, Quest International, with over 2 decades of analytical experience in the fragrance industry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Neil will give the opening talk on topics including but not exclusively:

  • The reliance of GC-FID throughout the industry – and the pitfalls in doing so
  • The impact of GCMS
  • The growing influence of LC (and LCMS)
  • Extraction from products – issues and challenges
  • Where the Industries appear to be going…

Neil will also attend the rest of the course and be available for questions and discussion in the breaks in the programme.

You can download a copy of the agenda here.

Places are booking fast, and are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you wish to attend, please get in touch now, either by email or calling +44 (0)1223 279210.

The cost of the workshop is £100 + VAT per person, which is inclusive of food, refreshments and all course material provided.  We are holding the 2-day event at the Hotel Felix in Cambridge, and practical demonstrations will be shown from our lab in Girton, along with a lab tour.
